Lajuanda M. Asemota is an award-winning executive technologist passionate about innovation’s ability to affect social change. With a proven track record in venture building and strategy, she boasts a diverse background spanning 20 years in industries such as technology, media, and education and lends this experience to professionals, entrepreneurs, and executives as Founder & CEO of both MAE Ventures and The Method Coach. As Cofounder & Chief Executive Officer of Second Chance Studios, she led a digital media company dedicated to employing formerly incarcerated individuals. Prior to that, as President & Executive Director of Y-Combinator-backed startup /dev/color, Lajuanda played a pivotal role in expanding the foundation of the organization, partnering with Netflix, Google, and others to empower Black software engineers to become industry leaders. She also established and led impactful divisions at Singularity Education Group, bringing emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and blockchain to the masses. Led by her passion for both art and innovation in emerging markets, she co-founded SingularityU West Africa’s Global Impact Challenge, the SpeedUpAfrica startup bootcamp, and UC Berkeley’s Multicultural Community Center Art Gallery. Lajuanda has spoken across 5 continents, been featured in publications such as Forbes Austria and Silicon Valley’s 40 Under 40 Tech Diversity, and served on the Board of Trustees for Leadership High School in San Francisco.
